Fridays - 6 to 10:30 p.m.
Saturdays - noon to 10:30 p.m.
Sundays - noon to 5 p.m.

Rembrandt in America - Cleveland Museum of Art
Rembrandt in America will be the first major exhibition to explore in depth the collecting of Rembrandt paintings in America. Consisting of approximately fifty works, the exhibition will bring together autograph paintings by Rembrandt as well as others thought to be by the artist when they entered American collections but whose attributions can no longer be maintained. The exhibition therefore also presents a survey of the long career of Rembrandt as a painter, including his studio and a broader network of adapters, followers, and copyists. Rembrandt in America will be unique in offering the public a rare opportunity to examine the evolving opinions and methods of scholars and collectors regarding what constituted an autograph Rembrandt painting over a period of more than a century.

Curriculum Connections: Literature Based, Language Arts, Health, Bullying, Theater Arts
Wanda Petronski, the new girl in room 13, wears the same faded blue dress to school every day, but insists that she has a hundred bright, shiny new ones at home. As Wanda’s story unfolds, her classmates learn the secret of the hundred dresses and with it, a lesson in tolerance, in taking responsibility and in living with the consequences of our actions. An endearing tale, based on the Newbery Honor Book by Eleanor Estes, The Hundred Dresses focuses on the difficult issue of bullying and how mistreating someone because he or she is different from oneself brings as much harm to the bully as to the victim.

An Artist Visits the White House Past: Paintings by Peter Waddell
James A. Garfield National Historic Site, 8095 Mentor Avenue, Mentor
From its construction in 1792 until the 1902 renovation that shaped the modern identity and functions of the interior of the White House, the fourteen paintings of this series examine the history of a national icon. Through meticulous research and tireless attention to detail, numerous sources inspired the brush of Peter Waddell to create a vision of the White House as it was, to gain an appreciation of the nineteenth-century house and the men and women who lived and worked within its walls. This exhibit is on loan from the White House Historical Association. Free of charge.

Porthouse Theatre presents
THE SOUND OF MUSIC
Music by Richard Rogers
Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II
Book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse
Suggested by “The Trapp Family Singers” by Maria Augusta Trapp
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre. The motion picture version remains the most popular movie musical of all time.
