Kendall Lake Winter Sports Center
Visit the center to rent a pair of snowshoes and enjoy a peaceful hike on the trails surrounding Kendall Lake. Snowshoes are available for $5.00 whenever the center is open. Cross Country Skis are available for $7.50 for a half day, $15.00 for a full day if trails permit.

Cleveland Indians Snow Days
Cleveland Indians Snow Days returns after a successful first season with over 50,000 fans streaming through its gates to enjoy snow tubing, ice skating and countless winter memories. "Snopening Day" begins November 25 and runs through January 16, 2012. New this year are additional warming areas, indoor children's play area and youth hockey tournaments.

Snow Shoe Hikes - Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Snowshoe Hikes
Enjoy the serenity of winter in the Cuyahoga Valley by snowshoe! A park
ranger will give a brief lesson on how to snowshoe before each hike. Bring water and dress for an active outdoor outing. Space is limited. Fee: $5 per person for snowshoe rental. When snow is less than 4 inches, programs are conducted as hikes without snowshoes and are free. No advance payment is required. Locations will be provided upon registration. To register

Evergreen Forests Snowshoe
Discover what it is like to snowshoe through large stands of eastern white
pine. Their long, soft, green needles are a lovely contrast to white snow. Join us on this 2.5-mile moderate snowshoe hike over hills and along a scenic plateau. 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

this workshop will be rescheduled based on instructor availability and

Cleveland Metroparks Chalet Toboggan Chutes icy fun kicks off Friday, November 25 and continues through Sunday, March 11, 2012 (weather permitting). Everyone is invited to the Chalet Recreation Area in Strongsville to experience the thrill of tobogganing on ice. Special opening day hours (November 25) are noon to 10:30 p.m.
Riders climb aboard a traditional wooden toboggan, but that's where the tradition ends . . . The twin, refrigerated ice chutes are approximately 700 icy feet long with an initial vertical drop of 70 feet. It's a fast, fun, heart-pumping ride. And, best of all, the Chalet Toboggan Chutes operate with or without snow!
Tobogganing hours for this season are:
Thursdays - 6 to 10 p.m. (Jan & Feb 2012)
Fridays - 6 to 10:30 p.m.
Saturdays - noon to 10:30 p.m.
Sundays - noon to 5 p.m.
The Chalet Recreation Area is located at 16200 Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, between Routes 42 and 82 in Strongsville - just a short distance from I-71 and the Ohio Turnpike.
